Privacy notice

This notice explains what happens to your personal information when you visit the HoWA Business website or register your business interest. HoWA Home, HoWA Living and the main HoWA website have their own notices.

The short version

• HoWA Living Ltd is responsible for the personal information collected on this website.
• When you register business interest, we use your details to respond to your enquiry. We only send you launch news if you tick the box to ask for it.
• Analytics cookies are off unless you turn them on. We use no advertising cookies.
• We do not sell your personal information.

HoWA is a service provided by HoWA Living Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company no. 15470281. Registered office: 12 Hatherley Road, Sidcup, Kent, DA14 4DT. HoWA Living Ltd is the data controller for the personal information described here.

What we collect, and why

When you register business interest

The form on the Register business interest page asks for:

• your name, your work email address, your company and the task you want to improve (all needed);
• if you choose to give them: whether you offer products, services or both, the systems you use, your company website and your team size.

We also record which page of this site you sent the form from, when you sent it and the version of this notice at the time.

We use these details to read and respond to your enquiry, and to contact you about relevant HoWA Business launch or discovery opportunities as they become available. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to businesses that contact us and discussing how HoWA Business might help them. If you go on to discuss a service with us, we also use them to take the steps you ask for before any contract.

Please do not include customer records or confidential business data in the form. We do not need them at this stage.

Launch news, only if you ask

If you tick "Send me HoWA Business launch news", we add your email address to the HoWA Business launch news list, with the date you asked and the version of this notice. Our lawful basis is your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email, or by emailing us. Leaving the box unticked does not affect your enquiry.

Keeping the form safe

To stop spam and automated messages, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a security check that looks at technical signals from your browser and your IP address. We also use your IP address briefly, in the server's memory, to limit repeated attempts. It is not saved with your enquiry. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the website and our inbox from abuse.

Analytics, only if you agree

If you allow analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to count page views, which links and buttons are used, and that the form was sent. It never receives your name, your email address, your company or anything you type into the form. Google receives technical information such as your browser, device and approximate location, which it works out from your IP address. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can change at any time under Cookie preferences. See our cookie notice.

Running the website

Like any website, our hosting provider processes technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the pages and keep the service secure. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

If you email us

We use your email address and what you tell us to reply. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us.

Your HoWA Home or HoWA Living records

HoWA Business has no access to HoWA Home or HoWA Living records, and registering business interest does not create any link to them.

We do not make decisions about you based only on automated processing, and we do not use your information for advertising.

Who helps us

These service providers handle personal information for us, under contract, only on our instructions and only for the purposes described here.

We would only share your information with anyone else if the law requires it, for example to answer a lawful request from a regulator, the police or a court.

Information sent outside the UK

Some of these providers are based in, or use servers in, the United States or the European Economic Area. When personal information leaves the UK, we make sure it is protected by UK adequacy regulations, or by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries: as long as we need them to respond and to follow up about HoWA Business, and no longer than 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a customer.
• Launch news: while you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address and the date you left, so that we do not email you again.
• Analytics: Google Analytics keeps event data for no longer than 14 months.
• Your cookie choice: 12 months, after which we ask again.
• Hosting logs: short-lived technical logs, deleted automatically by our hosting provider.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct it if it is wrong or incomplete;
• ask us to delete it;
• ask us to limit how we use it, or object to how we use it, including at any time to marketing;
• ask for it in a format you can take elsewhere;
• withdraw your consent at any time, including to launch news and analytics cookies.

Email hello@howa.co.uk. We may need to confirm your identity before we act. We will reply within one month, and tell you if we need longer or cannot do what you ask, for example where the law requires us to keep something.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this notice

We will update this notice when what we do changes, and change the date at the top. If a change affects how we use the details you have already given us, we will tell you before it takes effect.
